Chapter VI
Wha-what?
For a second, my heart felt like it stopped beating, only to come back in full force. The sudden change in heart rate gave me a throbbing headache and I swayed for a moment.
That letter
it knew I was reading over your shoulder, how did it know that? Anthonys voice got stronger with every word until his question sounded more imperative than inquistive. Who are you?
We stared at each other for a couple moments. Searching his eyes, I could see that he was not going to let this go and I couldnt blame him. To think you knew someone and then find out they had been lying to you; it must be torment. Anthony, I dont know what youll
Please, he grabbed my face and spoke to me in a soft, but imperative voice, Just tell me. I dont want to think youve been lying to me and Ill love you no matter what. He leaned in and kissed me lightly and I placed my hand over his. My thoughts were racing.
Can I really trust him? I cant lie to him now
I guess
I knew all along this would happen.
I pulled his hand down slowly from my face and the other fell back down gently along with it. My heart was bounding against my chest, I could feel adrenaline crawling up my spine and dispersing itself through my limbs like tentacles. Anthony, Im a va
Then a sound blared within the room and it seemed to be coming from between us and trying to push us apart. The omitting siren was painful to both of us and if it were not seeing Anthonys mouth drop, I would not have known he was screaming as he grabbed his ears and eyes shut tight. Getting desperate, I looked around for what was causing it and I felt a vibration coming from the chain of my necklace. Pulling it up to eye level, I found that it was the pendant with the moon with and star causing the awful noise, though there was something different about it. Then I heard a light thump and I turned to find Anthony lying unconscious on the bed; the noise began to fade.
Oh God
I laid him over me and checked his pulse. It was still there, but my attention was soon distracted by the blood that was now trickling out of his ears, his eardrums had burst. Panic overtook my mind for a brief second and tears fell down my cheeks at the thought of Anthony being deaf for the rest of his life, but almost immediately I took control over them once more. Stroking Anthonys face, I saw the letter, now lying on the floor, and gasped in realization.
If Leonardo was right, and I am a Legendary
then, I can heal Anthonys ears.
It was said that Legendaries had the power to transfer their healing powers to others, and if I were one, then Anthonys ears would be as good as new. I placed my hands on his ears and concentrated hard on focusing energy into my hands. A tingling sensation ran into my arms and threw to my fingertips; it was a cooling vibe. A few moments later, my hands began to glow a faint yellow and the blood from his ears seemed to be evaporating. Shortly after I noticed this, Anthony let out a groan and shook his head. He was coming back into consciousness and I thought to myself that there was no better time to test his hearing.
Anthony? Anthony, can you hear me? I spoke to him in a normal tone, but at the sound of my voice he yelped and squint his eyes together. I pulled my hands off him as he grabbed his ears and covered them. Shut.
Arg
Why are you talking so loudly, he said, pain in each word.
I was speaking in a normal tone, could it be that my healing abilities transmitted a higher level of hearing? Like that of a vampire?
I lowered my voice when I next spoke.
Anthony, are you okay?
He opened his eyes slowly as if he was afraid of what hed be faced with. The look remained once they were fully open; it was still there. Fear. Anthony stumbled hurriedly out of the bed and stood about a yard away from me, still giving me that appalling stare.
Who are you? No, what are you?
My heart seemed to jump up into my throat, making it hard to breathe; my mouth went dry.
What do you mean?
There
there was a loud piercing noise and I fainted and
then
while I was out, I
He paused and seemed to be taking my image in once more to make sure he had his thoughts straight. I saw a kind of vision. I could my face fall and a serious look begin to replace whatever had been there before.
What did he see?
It was of a girl running through a forest trying to run away from a monster and then it caught her and took her away
That much I already know
he must have went into my mind
And then
he took her into some strange place, like a courtyard. He laid her down on an altar and started chanting and the place seemed to just light up and the girl
the girl just seemed to be the source of all of it. Then it just, all went into her. Its all a blur. Anthonys voice trailed off for a second, he had a look of complete sorrow and betrayal upon his face and when he spoke again, it seemed like he had to force himself as he paused between each word. That girl...was........you.
[end of part 1... I'll add the rest later.]
